Morocco and France Pledge to Boost Security Ties Amid Immigration and Terrorism Concerns

The Moroccan and French Ministers of the Interior agreed, on Friday in Rabat, on the need to strengthen security cooperation between the two countries. This was during Gérald Darmanin’s visit to Morocco.
The communiqué published at the end of the meeting between the two men underlines that during the interview, the excellence of the relations between Morocco and France was welcomed. Various aspects of the security cooperation between the two countries were reviewed, particularly those relating to the fight against illegal immigration, drug trafficking and terrorism.
Abdelouafi Laftit and Gérald Darmanin, while welcoming the efforts made to strengthen security cooperation, expressed their determination to further strengthen security cooperation, through the exchange of information and expertise and the consolidation of the legal framework governing their cooperation, both at the bilateral and regional and multilateral levels.
