Moroccan Women’s Rights Advocate Awarded France’s Legion of Honor

The founder of the Insaf association (National Institute of Solidarity with Women in Distress) Meriem Othmani is part of the January 1 promotion of the Legion of Honor, the list of which was published yesterday, Tuesday.
This promotion brings together a total of 402 people, evenly divided between 345 knights, 42 officers, 9 commanders, 4 grand officers and 2 grand crosses, according to a press release from the Grand Chancellery of the Legion of Honor.
The national order of the Legion of Honor in the knight category rewards services (cultural, economic...) rendered to France or the causes it defends (human rights, press freedom, humanitarian causes...).
The Legion of Honor currently has 92,000 members, rewarded for their eminent merits in the service of France or for the universal causes it defends. It was founded in 1802 by Napoleon Bonaparte.
