Moroccan Wedding Procession Sparks Traffic Chaos in Belgian Town

After their wedding, a couple of newlyweds and their guests took certain liberties by storming the La Louvière-Haulchin axis to party. They could end up in court for obstructing traffic.
Windshields and doors open, music at full blast, burnouts, bottle throwing, blocking roundabouts... DH.be describes the irresponsible behavior of the newlyweds and their guests.
They were numerous to cross the border to attend the wedding of one of their own with a woman from Houdeng (La Louvière) of Moroccan origin. They had already attracted attention on the way there, but their return was even more spectacular, indicates the same source.
Videos of the scene were shared on social media. Motorists were greatly surprised to observe such behavior as they passed by.
In the wake of this, the Binche-Anderlues police zone intervened. Assisted by members of the zone, the occupants of the "disruptive" vehicles, at the level of Haulchin (Estinnes), were apprehended.
"Even if some vehicles escaped us, we were able to stop at least about twenty cars. We were able to identify the occupants before letting them celebrate the wedding in France," said Laurent Raspe, Head of the Binche-Anderlues Police.
"These individuals committed - we have several videos - malicious obstruction of traffic. It should be known that such obstruction is punishable by the Assize Court. In this case, these people will very likely end up before the criminal court," he said.
"Judges and police officers agree: this type of act must be severely punished. Some are sentenced to several years of driving license deprivation. As for the fines, they range from 2,000 to 10,000 euros," commented Benoit Godart, Spokesperson for Vias, the Belgian Institute for Road Safety.
