Moroccan Tech Entrepreneur Named ’Brussels Person of the Year’ for Community Impact

The Brussels-based Moroccan, Ibrahim Ouassari, founder of MolenGeek, has been named "Brussels Person of the Year 2021". A title awarded by the ASBL Brusseleir.
The Moroccan has been recognized for his multiple actions within his MolenGeek project, which is appreciated within Brussels society, reports Belga.
This project aims to identify talents in the city’s underprivileged neighborhoods, in order to create a favorable environment for them to express themselves in the field of technology.
Ouassari is a self-taught person in the field of technology. He first launched into consulting and then as an entrepreneur, the media points out, adding that he created the company UrbanTech in 2005, then the IT development company in 2008 and the financing company Applefield in 2011.
MolenGeek is present in Belgium (Molenbeek, Laeken, Antwerp and Charleroi), the Netherlands (Amsterdam and Rotterdam) as well as in Italy (Padua).
