Moroccans remain the largest student community in France with more than 44,900 students, according to the latest figures published by the French Agency for the Promotion of Higher Education (Campus France).
During the 2020-2021 academic year, 44,933 Moroccan students had enrolled in universities in France, thus taking the first place, far ahead of Algerian (29,333) and Chinese (27,950) students, the report indicates.
In terms of student mobility worldwide, the kingdom has risen in a few years to the 20th rank with 56,730 students living abroad. China, India and Vietnam form the top three, followed by Germany and France.
"Over five years, the areas that are progressing the most are also those that form the top three: North Africa - Middle East (1st area, +24%), sub-Saharan Africa (2nd, 41%), and Europe (3rd, +11%)," the same source points out.
