Moroccan Students Flock to French Universities Despite Pandemic, Campus France Reports

Despite the health crisis related to the coronavirus, Moroccans are expressing their desire to study in France for the 2020-2021 academic year. This is evidenced by the number of applications received by Campus France.
Like in 2019, Campus France received this year nearly 25,000 application files from Moroccan students wishing to pursue their studies in France, reports L’Économiste. Continuing higher education in France is the choice of more than 60% of Moroccan students.
The student whose file is accepted by the school or university will have to go to the Campus France office as well as the consulate for his visa application. Once arrived on French territory, he will be able to receive a residence permit valid for one year from the French Office for Immigration and Integration (OFII).
Generally, the high school graduate takes very selective exams before gaining access to preparatory classes and the grandes écoles. The admissions committee of the host institution is then responsible for analyzing the academic record of the applicant in order to determine whether the applicant’s file can be accepted.
This year, these competitions will not take place in France as in the past due to the Covid-19 pandemic. More than 2,500 Moroccan candidates will take written exams in about ten exam centers in several cities of the kingdom.
