Moroccan Star Harit Scores Brace as Schalke 04 Thrashes Paderborn 5-1 in Bundesliga

The second-to-last club, Paderborn, had no luck against its challenger, Schalke 04. The Blues and Blacks lost face against the Royal Blues. During this competition, the former Nantes player, Amine Harit, scored a brace during Schalke 04’s overwhelming victory over second-to-last Paderborn (5-1) on Sunday, September 15. This brace is also the first of the Franco-Moroccan’s career (71st and 85th minutes).

This good performance by Schalke 04 is to be commended as it is coming back from afar. After a disastrous 2018-2019 season, the club has focused on the championship. This has worked for them. A few days earlier, they had lost at home to Bayern (0-3, on August 24).

Thanks to this recovery of Schalke 04 against Hertha Berlin before the international break (3-0), it was Paderborn who took the lightning strike on Sunday (5-1), after opening the scoring (8th) and resisting until the half-hour mark. Unfortunately, the second-to-last in the championship cracked under the pressure of the team coached since this summer by American David Wagner.

With this resounding victory, Schalke 04 is 6th, three points behind leader RB Leipzig. Paderborn remains second-to-last, ahead of Hertha Berlin, thanks to a better attack.
