Moroccan Retirees in France Protest Pension Delays Amid Digital Shift

Deprived of their pensions for months or even years due to the dematerialization of services, Moroccan retirees living in France, gathered within the Retraite IDF collective, have decided to demonstrate to demand their rights.
The collective organized a rally on Wednesday in front of the headquarters of the Caisse nationale d’assurance vieillesse (CNAV) to denounce the closure of physical counters and the dematerialization of procedures to access their retirement pensions. "My family needs me, but I have no resources. The CNAV does not respond to me," said Adama Dioumassy, one of the retirees, to Bondy Blog.
The collective has launched a petition that has already obtained 10,000 signatures. "We have ten thousand signatures, but we know that these difficulties still represent thousands and thousands of people who cannot contact the CNAV," protests Maïa Lecoin from the Café social. The petition will be transmitted to Renaud Villard, the general director of the CNAV.
"I am a category 2 disabled person, I made my request several months ago and I still have no answer," complains Adama Dioumassy. Mamadou Konaré, another retiree, says he is experiencing the same situation. "I have been retired since December 2022, I made my request 3 months in advance and I still have no answer. Often, it is very difficult to feed myself and especially to pay the rents," he indignantly.
