Moroccan Restaurant Worker Faces Deportation After False ID Discovery in France

While he has been in France for several years, Alae Eddine Ennaimi is threatened with expulsion. The 24-year-old man was arrested by the police after a check in the restaurant where he worked.

Aladin’s life changed during a joint control by the Urssaf, the Border Police (PAF) and the Labor Inspectorate in the establishment. The authorities discovered that Aladin had a fake Spanish identity card, a fact that Sandrine Poulain was unaware of. The manager insists that the law requires employers to verify the identity of their employees, but does not allow them to determine the authenticity of identity documents, reports actu.fr

Aladin, who should have waited a minimum of five years of residence in France before being able to apply for a residence permit, feared being sent back to his country of origin if he had applied for regularization through work. Today, he is facing an obligation to leave French territory (OQTF) and could be forced to return to Morocco at the end of July if no solution is found.

Deeply affected by this situation, Sandrine is actively supporting the young man in his fight to stay in France. Despite their efforts to find a solution, all avenues have proven fruitless. Graduated in catering in Morocco and well socially integrated, Aladin is having trouble envisaging a return to his country of origin.

Working since the age of 13, he had left Morocco for France, partly to support his family. His journey to France lasted many months of walking and swimming, crossing ten countries. After a difficult start in Paris, he settled in Cherbourg, where he found a new home.
