Moroccan red fruits are a hit in France
Full house for Moroccan red fruits. With record revenues of nearly $6 million and a 25% increase in volumes by 2025, the Kingdom is entering the very exclusive circle of the five main suppliers to France for the first time.
"Made in Morocco" is establishing itself durably in the frozen aisles of the Hexagon. According to EastFruit data, exports reached an unprecedented level over the first ten months of the year, totaling 1,950 tons of raspberries and blackberries. This performance erases the decline of 2023 and even exceeds the previous peak of 2022, confirming the resilience of a sector that weighed barely a few dozen tons at the beginning of the 2000s.
While France now absorbs about 7% of Moroccan volumes, the battle remains intense. The French market remains the preserve of Serbian and Polish giants, who account for half of the supplies, while Ukraine is pushing hard behind. Morocco is particularly benefiting from the decline of Cyprus to consolidate its position, but will have to maintain its competitiveness to last against these European competitors.
This dynamic is not limited to red fruits. The 2024-2025 campaign also marks a turning point for citrus fruits in Germany, where Moroccan mandarin and clementine exports have crossed a historic threshold, establishing the Kingdom as a leading supplier in the two largest European consumer markets.
