Moroccan Pianist Nour Ayadi Joins French Music Academy After Prestigious Cortot Prize Win

While she has just won the "Cortot" Prize 2019 in Paris, at the end of the Concours du Diplôme supérieur de Concertiste of the Ecole normale de Musique "Alfred Cortot", the young Moroccan pianist, Nour Ayadi, is already selected to participate in the French Music Academy.

Nour Ayadi has good reason to rejoice as she will be able to rub shoulders with great names of the Academy concerned, including Jean-Efflam Bavouzet and Jacques Rouvier. Indeed, according to the "FranceMusique" website, the "Cortot" Prize, recently won by the young Moroccan pianist, will have "opened the doors to many festivals, while also offering her the opportunity to record an album".

We remember, Nour, during a show, had seduced more than one, by brilliantly performing two preludes, finding herself, as a result, as the first woman to have won this Prize. Filled with humility, the pianist nevertheless affirmed that she found "no distinction between music and who should play it". It is rather, she affirmed, to her distinction, "a beautiful symbol and a pride to carry this torch".

A student at Sciences Po Paris, Nour Ayadi says she manages to reconcile her studies and her passion for music, specifying that it is a matter of good organization. Laureate of several prizes in international competitions, she counts, among other distinctions, the First Prize at the "Concours des Virtuoses du cœur", in Paris, in 2019, but also the Grand Prix at the "Flame Competition", in Paris, the First Prize at the "International Classical Music Competition" in Baku, the 2nd Prize at the "Alion Piano Competition" in Estonia, and also the First Prize at the "National Music Competition" of Morocco.

These are all awards that allow Nour to perform in shows, all over the world. Already, she is performing, this June, in various festivals, in France (Festival "Chopin Nohant", the "Nuits du Piano", Festival de piano d’Orléans, Monaco, ...) and will have the opportunity to record her first album, reports the same source.
