Moroccan Parliament Urges Action on French Visa Restrictions Amid Growing Frustration

The Moroccan Parliament has once again questioned the government on the restrictions on French visas. It calls on it to put an end to this difficulty faced by many Moroccans for several months.
The refusal to grant French visas to Moroccans persists. Faced with this situation, the deputy of the Federation of the Democratic Left, Fatima Tamni, addressed a written question to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita. "The ban given to Moroccan doctors to attend a conference on ophthalmology has caused anger and consternation in the absence of a plausible explanation. Moreover, the consulates collect large sums of money as fees," stressed the elected official.
Deputy Fatima Tamni also mentions the period for obtaining appointments for students wishing to pursue their studies in France. This period extends until September and the additional documents required by the consulates sometimes lengthen the duration of the procedure, it is noted. She also calls on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad to take "measures that must protect visa applicants from the humiliation they suffer and allow students to have reasonable deadlines to obtain their visa in order to join their schools on time".
