Moroccan Opposition Leader Slams Macron’s Visa Policy as ’Blackmail’ Against Morocco

Deputy and Secretary General of the Unified Socialist Party (PSU), Nabila Mounib, was very acerbic against French President Emmanuel Macron, denouncing his "unacceptable blackmail against Morocco", referring to the visa problem.
Emmanuel Macron "makes a bad calculation" by trying to use the visa as a "blackmail tool" against Morocco, analyzes Nabila Mounib in an interview with Hespress. The PSU deputy draws the attention of the French president to the fact that his rapprochement with Algeria must not be done at the expense of Morocco.
Referring to history, Mounib deplores Macron’s nostalgia and sentimentalism on the "issue" of the Sahara. "France and Spain know well that the Sahara is Moroccan," she argued, specifying that Morocco "is not the private hunting ground of any country and it is rightly that the Kingdom diversifies its partnerships around the world...".
For Mounib, "it is time to break with France which has long been siphoning off the wealth" of Morocco. And to add: "If France closes its door to Moroccan students, I advise them to go study in Canada, a country that knows how to treat migrants with egalitarianism".
