Moroccan Nurse Belgium Earns 10000 Euros Monthly Independent
Arriving in Belgium with her Moroccan diploma, Kamilia Fikri left hospital employment to become an independent nurse. A deliberate professional choice that offers her complete flexibility and comfortable gross income, despite sometimes very demanding schedules.
By using an application to select her assignments, Kamilia Fikri’s business generates between 8,000 and 10,000 euros gross per month. A single night shift can earn her up to 900 euros. This financial independence allows the 31-year-old mother to comfortably cover her 1,000 euro rent and 850 euros in childcare fees. "I work somewhat by objectives: one night for rent, another for bills," she explains to Sudinfo. Completely autonomous, she now prioritizes her two-year-old son rather than frantically chaining shifts together.

Before finding this precious balance, the young woman came close to burnout. Initially hired full-time in the surgery department at MontLégia Hospital in Liège, she began supplementing with home care services. Her weeks quickly approached 70 hours of work, with days stretching from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. The birth of her child triggered a radical shift. Realizing she earned better money working for herself, she definitively left the traditional system. "Today, I’m my own boss, and that changes everything," she says.

This success crowns a journey filled with obstacles. Arriving in Verviers in 2017 with her Moroccan diploma and three years of experience, she had to return to school for two and a half years to obtain equivalence. While she savors her freedom today, she also accepts its precarious trade-off. Without paid leave or automatic pension contributions, the professional must anticipate every financial burden. "If I don’t work, I don’t earn anything," the nurse sums up, perfectly lucid about her status’s demands.
