Moroccan Man Sentenced to 2 Years for Domestic Violence in France

Two years in prison with no possibility of parole, this is the sentence imposed on a 33-year-old Moroccan by the Dordogne court. On New Year’s Eve and Christmas morning, he had been arrested for violence against his ex-partner.
Suspected of domestic violence committed between February 2019 and November 2020, the defendant, in an irregular situation, had not respected the ban on contacting his ex-partner. Drunk, he had notably pulled her hair until she fell, reports Sud Ouest, specifying that he was tried in immediate appearance on Monday, December 28 by the court which, finally, dealt with the two cases on Monday, December 28, based on three complaints and eight medical certificates from the plaintiff.
During the hearing, the defendant promised not to attack his former partner again. For the prosecutor, he is probably using his victim to try to obtain a situation in France.
Verdict, the thirty-year-old, unemployed, who would not take care of his daughter from a previous union, was sentenced to two years in prison with no possibility of parole, for domestic violence and home invasion. He was also sentenced to a five-year ban from French territory.
