Moroccan Man Jailed for Assaulting Teacher After Social Media Dispute with Student

The Montbéliard court sentenced a young Moroccan to one year in prison for violence against a teacher at the Huisselets high school. The defendant does not attend the establishment.
A 2.0 flirtation with unfortunate consequences. Aymane K., 22, met a Huisselets student on Instagram. The conversations quickly turned into a flirtation that did not please the young high school student. The latter would have put an end to the exchange of messages. The suitor demands explanations from her. The student then invites him to come to the establishment. She knew that he would not be able to have access, as the high school is regulated and secured.
On January 24, the young man entered the establishment without authorization. Another student takes him to the classroom of the student he has flirted with. Aymane attacks her. His classmates intervene. The teacher who was teaching her jewelry class also. He insults her and violently hits her in the face. In the aftermath, the students manage to immobilize the young man on the ground, reports L’Est républicain. The police arrive and take him to the police station. He will be placed in pre-trial detention, released for health reasons (injured in a knee at the time of his immobilization, he had to be hospitalized), before being placed under judicial supervision.
On Tuesday, his trial opened before the Montbéliard court but Aymane was absent. He would have left for Morocco in early April "out of fear of having his residence permit withdrawn," explains his lawyer, Virginie Étienne. Information confirmed by the defendant’s mother. Assuring that her client did not intend to fight, the lawyer pleads his psychological fragility. "It is not just a simple depression, but psychoses with auditory and visual hallucinations," she said. It is unknown whether this mental disorder was present before the events or was triggered by his short incarceration. After the debates, the verdict is handed down: Aymane is sentenced to one year in prison.
