Moroccan Man Facing Deportation Charged with Attempted Murder at French Train Station

A 45-year-old man, presumably of Moroccan origin, has been indicted and detained for attempted murder on a 31-year-old woman in the night of August 13 to 14, outside the Savigny-sur-Orge (Essonne) train station.
The suspect is accused of having punched and inflicted two cutter blows to the victim’s throat. The quadragenarian has just been indicted for attempted murder and placed in pre-trial detention, reports Le Figaro from the Évry prosecutor’s office.
A judicial investigation has been opened, adds the French media, specifying that the accused, born in Morocco, had been the subject of an obligation to leave French territory (OQTF) since January 2023 and had been convicted twice for theft and violence.
The suspect crossed paths with the young woman in the night of August 13 to 14 outside the Savigny-sur-Orge (Essonne) train station and proposed her 50 euros for a relationship. An indecent proposal that the victim refused, which earned her punches and two cutter blows to the throat from the suspect who fled after this assault.
He will be apprehended a few moments later by elements of the Anti-Crime Brigade (BAC) not far from the station. The victim, for her part, had been urgently transferred to the hospital and underwent surgery. Due to this assault, she was issued a total work incapacity (ITT) of 30 days, informs the Évry prosecutor’s office.
