Moroccan Lawmaker Dies in France Amid Border Closure Restrictions

A member of the Moroccan parliament, affiliated with the Istiqlal party, died last Wednesday in France, where he had been stranded since the closure of the Moroccan borders.
It is the president of the Moroccan political party, Abdessalam Lebbar, who made the announcement, specifying that the body of the deceased, Mohamed Larbi Bourras, will be buried in France.
In an address to the House of Representatives, Nezha Louafi, Minister Delegate to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, had announced that 90% of Moroccans who died abroad were buried in their host countries.
Pending the lifting of the state of emergency, the minister had asked the 18,226 Moroccan nationals stranded abroad to be more patient.
