Moroccan King Buys Luxury Mansion Near Eiffel Tower in Secret Deal

Last July, King of Morocco Mohammed VI concluded the acquisition of a townhouse in Paris. This is an operation carried out in the closed royal circle and which still keeps its secret, as to the cost of the luxury residence.
The hotel is located at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, on the Champ-de-Mars, in the 7th arrondissement of the French capital, indicates Le Figaro, specifying that it is a residence described as "unique" and "royal" acquired from Prince Khaled bin Sultan bin Abdelaziz al-Saud, former Saudi Deputy Minister of Defense and son of the former Crown Prince, who had been the owner since 1988, details the same source.
According to the press, this hotel would cover more than 1000 m²; much less than the 1600 m² of living space and 1400 m² of ancillary areas indicated by the Belles Demeures de France network, a specialist in luxury real estate in France, and temporarily mandated by the Saudi royal family to sell this hotel.
The sale was finally concluded between royal families. On the Moroccan side, the personal secretary and the lawyer of Mohammed VI, in direct contact with the representatives of the Saudi royal family, indicates the newspaper. "The two parties preferred to negotiate privately (...) at the Palace (...) at the end of July and we were informed at the beginning of August," explains Marie-Hélène Lundgreen, director of the Belles demeures de France network.
What about the amount of the transaction? 80 million euros, the newspaper reports, which is not at all followed by the expert in the luxury real estate market, since in Paris, the square meter can be worth more than 50,000 euros: "We have received offers close to the prices published in the press, but they have been refused," says Marie-Hélène Lundgreen.
Built in 1912, the hotel has about ten rooms, 3 levels of approximately 500 m² each - with a penthouse on the top floor. Not to mention a games room, a swimming pool, a spa, a meeting room, a hairdressing salon, a 300 m² garden and of course a 229 m² terrace with a breathtaking view of all of Paris.
