Moroccan Intelligence Agency Claims Key Role in Foiling French Church Terror Plot

The Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) would reproach the French intelligence services DGSE-DGSI for deliberately failing to recognize the decisive role it played in the operation to dismantle a terrorist cell in Béziers.
The French intelligence services carried out the arrest of an 18-year-old woman in Béziers on Sunday who had pledged allegiance to Daesh and was planning a violent action against a church in Montpellier. This operation was a success thanks to the valuable assistance of the DGST which, in a statement, indicated that as of April 1, it had made high-importance information available to the French services on the "imminent terrorist projects" of the person concerned, according to Maghreb Intelligence.
This useful information made it possible to locate the young woman’s home and carry out a raid to arrest her. Several objects found on the premises and seized, including a sword and homemade explosive devices made of taped bottles and pellets, show that the young woman was practically ready to take action.
In their press release reporting on the operation, the French services remained silent about this decisive aid provided by the Moroccan intelligence services. Unlike the French intelligence services, the Americans did not fail to hail the help of the DGST in the arrest, a few months ago, of an Americansoldier who had been radicalized and was planning to carry out a terrorist attack.
"The new leaders of the French intelligence services have abandoned the good practices that prevailed about twenty years ago in relations with friendly services," laments a former senior DGSE official and security consultant in the Gulf countries, quoted by Maghreb Intelligence, who adds that "the French deliberately minimize or completely forget to thank friendly intelligence services for supporting them."
