Moroccan Hotel Chain Mogador Up for Sale Amid Tourism Downturn

In difficulty, the Chaâbi family is considering selling the hotels of its Mogador chain. The good old days are over.
The Chaâbis plan to sell their hotel establishments or look for the possibility of handing them over to third parties to manage them, reports Maghreb Intelligence. The 7 hotels in Marrakech and the Mogador in Agadir are the establishments concerned. The health crisis related to the coronavirus has had a negative impact on these hotels. The Ynna Holding group is also working to resolve the problems of some 800 employees who have been laid off. It intends to get rid of them, it is said, at a lower cost.
Mogador Hôtels & Resorts offers all facets of Morocco for leisure or business tourism. Their clientele is made up of foreign tourists (Gulf) and Moroccans. The Mogador chain is also the first hotel chain to have obtained the HOTELcert prestige category certificate in Africa. But the health crisis has put the hotel establishments of the Ynna Holding group in difficulty.
