Moroccan Football Chief Clarifies CHAN 2023 Travel Request to Algeria

After seizing the CAF regarding preliminary requirements for the participation of the Moroccan under-23 national team in CHAN 2023, scheduled in Algeria, the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation met the press for a few clarifications.
"Morocco has not asked Algeria to provide a special trip for the participation of the Moroccan under-23 national team in CHAN," organized in Algeria between January 13 and February 4, 2023, explained Fouzi Lekjaa during the press conference held after the Council of Government. For the president of the FRMF, it is in fact "a request for authorization that could allow Moroccan players to travel on January 10 at 2:45 p.m. to Constantine, by means of a direct flight from Rabat on board a Royal Air Maroc plane".
Fouzi Lekjaa wanted to make these clarifications to put an end to the false information that has been circulating since the publication of the FRMF decision, adding that "the official carrier of the national teams is none other than RAM", and that "Morocco is awaiting an official response from CAF regarding the authorization requested".
On Wednesday, Rachid Oukali, head of the competition organizing committee, explained that "the specifications of a sporting event such as the African Championship of local players stipulate that the host of the competition has the obligation to secure the travel of the delegations of the participating countries" on the national territory like the trips from the capital to Constantine, Oran or Annaba.
