Moroccan Expats Stranded in French Port Finally Return Home for Eid al-Adha

The Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) blocked at the port of Sète for several days have returned to Morocco to celebrate Eid al-Adha with their families and spend the summer vacation there. This, thanks to the special device set up by the Moroccan authorities.
Relief for the MREs. The Moroccan authorities took specific measures on Sunday to allow them to return to the country where they will celebrate Eid al-Adha with their loved ones, a member of the crisis cell set up by the Moroccan authorities told Le360. Romantika, one of the two ferries chartered by the Tanger Med port authority from the Estonian shipping company Tallink Grupp, ensured the transport of the families concerned.
"By saving the price of the ticket, the beneficiaries will be able to pay the charges accumulated over the past few days of the secure parking lot made available to them at the port of Sète. Those who want to leave later have been housed and fed free of charge at the hotel," added this member of the crisis cell.
Many MREs had found themselves blocked in the parking lot of the Orsetti maritime port (Sète) due to the cancellation of their ticket. Intershipping, the shipping company that opened a third maritime line between Sète and Tangier, was unable to charter a ship to allow them to reach Morocco. Its website was also inaccessible. An ordeal that lasted several days.
