Moroccan Educator Wins India’s Top Teaching Award for Math Innovation

Hicham Maadan, professor at the Regional Center for Education and Training Professions of the Béni Mellal-Khénifra region, was awarded in the category "Innovation in Mathematics, Research and Didactics" for his project "innovation in the learning and teaching of Mathematics" which constitutes a contribution to the development of mathematics and their teaching. It is an integrated educational project adapted to all cycles of primary, secondary and vocational education, which integrates the Moroccan methodology of teaching and renewed methods with a view to promoting mathematics in the school environment.

The 32-year-old researcher, who is pursuing his doctoral studies at the University Sultan Moulay Slimane, has been conducting studies since 2012 to establish a modern engineering for training combining the learning of mathematics and the lived reality of students for the mathematics streams by integrating them into all aspects of life. Proud of this distinction, Maadan, confided to M24 all his happiness, since his project was selected among several others, proof of the recognition of the effectiveness of the Moroccan school system.

It should be recalled that Professor Hicham Maadan has been nominated for similar awards at the national and international level since 2017. The brilliant researcher represented Morocco in 2012 at the Francophone Mathematical Space (EMF) in Switzerland and France. He has also been an ambassador for the global mathematics project led by the American Institute of Mathematics.
