Moroccan Driver Sentenced to Two Years for Ramming Police During Traffic Stop

The Bobigny court sentenced on Friday Nordine B., the Moroccan who had rammed police officers from the Anti-Crime Brigade during a routine check in Stains (Seine-Saint-Denis), to two years in prison.
Nordine B. appeared on Friday before the Bobigny court (Seine-Saint-Denis) for "violence with a weapon by destination". On August 16, 2021, he had hit officers from the Anti-Crime Brigade with his car while trying to escape a routine check. He was then seriously injured by bullets fired by two police officers who shot him eight times with their service weapons, Actu recalls.
The court only focused on the defendant’s refusal to comply during last Friday’s hearing, and sentenced him to two years in prison and the payment of 15,000 euros in damages.
"The driver, having received six bullets, was sentenced to two years in prison for trying to flee in the face of three individuals wearing no distinctive police insignia," denounced his lawyer, Me Bouzrou, who had raised the incompetence of the Bobigny court to hear the case.
The defense had filed a complaint for attempted voluntary manslaughter against his client and forgery in a public document. The investigation of this part of the case is ongoing and an investigation has been opened and conducted by the IGPN.
