Monday 9 September 2019, by
On the initiative of the France Maroc Foundation for Peace and Sustainable Development, and the Ribat Al Fath Association for Sustainable Development, Franco-Moroccan meetings were held from September 1 to 6 in Bordeaux, between Moroccans Residing Abroad (MREs). These meetings focused on the sustainable economic development of the southern provinces of the Kingdom.
To take stock of the cooperation and chart good prospects. This is the full scope of the Franco-Moroccan meetings in Bordeaux.
On the agenda, review of scientific meetings, round table on global issues and possible strategies for economic cooperation and sustainable development of the Laayoune Region and the Province of Smara. Another round table focused on the challenges of origin and quality of products in the agri-food sectors.
Thematic interviews on various topics such as camel breeding, the slate deposit, various plant productions and water, directly related to the province of Smara, were also at the heart of the meetings.
The France-Morocco Foundation for Peace and Sustainable Development, chaired by Hubert Seillan, and vice-chaired by Abdelkrim Bennani, also president of the Ribat Al Fath Association for Sustainable Development, aims "to make the Moroccan Sahara the main target of its actions", according to sources close to the meetings.
To this end, the structure involves French and Moroccan companies in the launch of collective and common investment projects in the interest of the region and in a spirit of North-South, but also South-South partnership, thanks to the exceptional relations linking Morocco with African countries. At the end of the meetings, the economic operators present noted the progress made by Morocco in many areas.
