Moroccan Community in Spain Grows to Nearly 880,000, Remains Largest Foreign Group

According to the latest report published by the National Institute of Statistics (INE), Moroccans are the largest foreign community outside the EU established in Spain.
There are approximately 879,943 Moroccans legally established in Spain as of January 1, 2022, an increase of 0.8% compared to January 1, 2021, according to the INE, which points out that the Moroccan community represents 16% of foreigners living in the country.
Moroccans have maintained their position as the largest community in the country. They are followed by Romanians, with 623,097 people. In third place are Colombians (312,915), then the British (290,372) followed by Italians (273,889), Chinese (223,591) and Venezuelans (210,750).
As of January 1, 2022, Spain had a population of 47,435,597, including 5,512,558 foreigners, an increase of 50,490 people compared to the same period last year.
