Moroccan-Born Entrepreneur Appointed Vice President of Economy for France’s Occitanie Region

Jalil Benabdillah, 55, is now a regional councilor, vice-president in charge of the economy, employment, innovation and reindustrialization. Originally from Morocco, this Gardois is a successful entrepreneur.
Jalil Benabdillah is the successor of Nadia Pellefigue, reports La Dépêche du Midi. The latter is now in charge of higher education, research and international relations. The Moroccan arrived in France in 1985 where he pursued his higher education. He went through the Ecole des Mines d’Alès and graduated as a materials engineer.
Subsequently, he founded the SDTech group in Alès, specialized in the analysis and production of ultrafine powders for industry. The fifty-year-old is the head of several companies in which about fifty people work. The turnover of these companies amounts to 3 million euros.
The economic advisor to the Occitanie region was expected in international relations. A candidate on Carole Delga’s list, Jalil Benabdillah has become vice-president in charge of the economy, employment, innovation and reindustrialization. The entrepreneur will have to manage a major portfolio in the region’s action, covering the regional economic strategy, but above all the support and aid granted to companies.
