Moroccan-Belgian Politician Saïd Ahruil Elected Alderman in Saint-Gilles

Saïd Ahruil has just returned to the long list of Moroccan nationals who have succeeded in being elected alderman within a Belgian municipality.
In a press release, the municipality of Saint-Gilles announced that the new alderman for Sports and Civil Status is Saïd Ahruil. He was elected alderman during the municipal council, and is replacing Cathy Marcus, a resigning alderman.
"Saïd Ahruil has been very active in the associative environment from an early age, particularly by setting up activities for young people and notably through sport. He will concretize many projects when he previously held the position of alderman until 2018," the municipality said in a statement.
The new alderman says he wants to lead a sports policy "that offers quality infrastructure to the greatest number and allows young people to find a means of emancipation there."
