Moroccan Banks Praise 60,000 Frontline Workers Amid COVID-19 Crisis

The Moroccan banking sector is receiving the support of the Professional Group of Banks of Morocco (GPBM) for the effort made in the prevention and management of the consequences of the pandemic on all levels. For the GPBM, even if the banks have been and continue to be shaken by the crisis caused by covid-19, they ensure the continuity of banking services.
Despite the crisis, 60,000 employees, women and men "are on the front line every day at the branch level to serve their customers", while they are exposed, as well as their families, to the risk of contamination by the coronavirus. To mitigate these risks, the banking institutions have taken "appropriate hygiene and safety measures to ensure the protection of their staff and their customers", reports the MAP.
According to the same source, "the banks have also adapted and strengthened their information systems and business continuity plans". The objective is "to ensure the proper functioning of their services in branches and through telework, especially through the digital channel during this confinement period".
