Moroccan Authorities Capture Major Drug Lord in Ben Slimane Forest
Targeted by several warrants for possession, trafficking and distribution of drugs, issued against him by the services of the Royal Gendarmerie and the security services of Ben Slimane, a drug baron has just been arrested.
End of fugitive for one of the biggest drug traffickers in Morocco. The services of the Gendarmerie of the Judicial Center of Ben Slimane, under the Regional Command of the Royal Gendarmerie of Settat, proceeded, on the night of Saturday, January 13, to the arrest of a drug trafficker targeted by several national search warrants, for possession, trafficking and distribution of drugs, at the level of the Ain Tizgha forest, in the province of Ben Slimane. To succeed in the operation, they set a meticulously prepared trap for him, which allowed them in a short time to paralyze his movements, curb his momentum and put an end to his illegal activities.
The drug trafficker was arrested with 100 kilograms of cannabis, 30 kilograms of tobacco leaves and 1 kilogram of cannabis resin. The gendarmes also seized white weapons and two motorcycles of unknown origin, probably stolen, with falsified serial numbers.
Described as one of the biggest drug distributors in the region, the suspect was the subject of national search warrants, issued against him by the services of the Royal Gendarmerie and the security services of Ben Slimane, in cases related to drug trafficking, according to Kech24, adding that he had long been the subject of follow-up and surveillance by the Royal Gendarmerie services of Ben Slimane. Except that he managed to escape them each time by relying on a network of informants, taking the greatest precautions and distrusting any stranger approaching him.
Pending his appearance before the court, the suspect was placed in custody, on the instructions of the competent prosecutor’s office, with the court of first instance of Ben Slimane, in order to deepen the investigation and draw up an official report concerning the facts with which he is charged.
