The largest Salon in Europe, which was held in Paris, was an opportunity for craftsmen to showcase all their know-how. More than forty Moroccan exhibitors seduced visitors to the Paris Fair with the richness and variety of handicraft items.
The Moroccan pavilion was the object of covetousness on the part of the visitors, who flocked in large numbers to discover the beauty and richness of the various products of the Moroccan heritage.
Leather goods, coppersmithing, cabinetmaking, weaving and traditional clothing. The Moroccan pavilion, built on an area of 500 m2, offered to the delight of the eyes a palette of colorful products and a very original craft know-how, witnesses of a diversified cultural and patrimonial history.
Let’s recall that the Moroccan participation takes place, every year, under the aegis of the House of Crafts in charge of the promotion and crafts of Morocco.
The success of craft products at this Paris Fair is also felt in terms of exports. During the first two of the year, international demand has indeed increased by 9%. Traditional clothing is at the top of exports with 22% market share, followed by pottery and stone products and carpets with a contribution to turnover of 17% and 14%, respectively.
