Moroccan and French Forces Conduct Joint Mountain Combat Training in Atlas Mountains

The Royal Armed Forces (FAR) participated from October 9 to 24 in a joint exercise with the 13th French Mountain Hunters Battalion. The objective is to strengthen the capabilities of Moroccan soldiers for mountain operations.
These exercises took place in the Oukaïmeden mountains in the province of Al Haouz, reports forum Far-Maroc, noting that the Wolves of the first combat company of the 13th Mountain Hunters Battalion (BCA) evaluated the skills of the FAR in this discipline.
This French unit is specialized in mountain combat. It is equipped with the most modern equipment to progress, station and fight in the mountains and in extreme environments (griffon, quad, tracked vehicles, snowmobile, latest generation skis, paraglider). Its elements have already proven themselves in the most difficult environments such as the Arctic, the African deserts, the Afghan mountains or urban areas, it is added.
During the exercises with the FAR, the activities concerned mountain training (ascent with heavy loads, climbing, mountain first aid...) including also mountain combat. The opportunity also allowed the two parties to discover their respective armaments, indicates the same source.
