Montpellier’s ’Arabesques’ Festival Celebrates Arab Culture with 30,000 Spectators

Great moments of valorization of artists and the culture of the Arab world, the "Arabesques" Festival is organized in several places each year in Montpellier. Initiative of Habib Dechraoui, the event brings together around 30,000 spectators and more than 200,000 visitors.
The idea of organizing the "Arabesques" Festival germinated from the mind of Habib Dechraoui during a stay in Palestine. He has taken on the mission of organizing an event in France that brings together all the cultural diversities of the Arabic-speaking countries.
According to France3 Occitanie, the initiator of the "Arabesques" Festival was born in Meknes, Morocco but grew up in Montpellier. With the association, Uni’Sons, created in 2000 and which welcomes 200 young people each year in workshops, about thirty artists in the studio and 5,000 schoolchildren in cultural activities, Habib Dechraoui aims to share everything he has been able to capitalize on in terms of experience.
For its 14th edition, "Arabesques" will be held from September 10 to 22. As every year, a vast program is offered, mixing music, storytelling, cinema, circus, calligraphy to promote dialogue between different cultures. "Arabesques" has become an unmissable event between emerging artists and established stars.
