Montpellier Airport Resumes Flights to Morocco After Boeing 737 Incident

After an interruption due to the runway excursion during the night of September 24 of a Boeing 737 cargo plane of the airline West Atlantic at Montpellier-Méditerranée airport, traffic resumed this Monday, September 26, 2022 to several destinations including Morocco.
The operation to lift the West Atlantic Boeing 737 was a success. There are no casualties to be deplored. "After various technical meetings and many exchanges with all the stakeholders (the company operating the aircraft, the insurers, the experts, Boeing, DGAC and the airport teams), a summary meeting was held under the authority of the sub-prefect Pierre Castoldi, in the presence of the president of the airport’s supervisory board Christian Marty," the airport said in a statement. After the success of the operation, commercial flights are starting to be operated this Monday at Montpellier airport.
Transavia France will operate four departures, including two to Paris-Orly, one to Heraklion and one to Nantes. These flights will be followed by rotations of Air France, EasyJet, Norwegian Air Shuttle, KLM or Royal Air Maroc (RAM).
