Montpellier Airport Expands Summer Routes, Adds Six New International Destinations

The Montpellier-Méditerranée airport will serve a Moroccan city starting this Sunday, March 27. This new destination is part of its summer program.
Starting this Sunday, March 27, the Montpellier-Méditerranée airport will be connected to six new destinations: Oslo, Seville, Oujda (Morocco), Mykonos, Split (Croatia) and Rome, reports Le Parisien. Its summer program includes around forty routes that will be offered to 17 countries. "A record for us, thanks in particular to the deployment of Transavia," says Emmanuel Brehmer, director of the airport.
Full of optimism, the airport management has set "very ambitious" goals for the coming years. "Most major airports are aiming for 70% of 2019 traffic (pre-Covid) in 2022. With 1.7 million passengers currently, we are at 88%. Our goal is to reach 2.5 million passengers by 2026, then 3 million," says Emmanuel Brehmer.
According to the manager, these objectives can be achieved, as a massive return of travelers has been observed for several months. "After two years of activities ruined by Covid, but which we managed to get through by maintaining all jobs, the recovery is very strong: we have an extraordinary booking rate!" he said. A positive sign for the Montpellier-Méditerranée airport.
