Mehdi Ghezzar arrested in Paris: The former anti-Morocco commentator discovers that he is on the S-list
The man who had violently attacked Morocco on television sets now sleeps under the watchful eye of the intelligence services. Mehdi Ghezzar, arrested on Tuesday in front of his Parisian home, was stunned to learn of his registration on the S-list of individuals threatening public safety.
The Algerian editorialist spent the night in police custody before being released on Wednesday morning. During his arrest by the French police, the agents notified him of his registration on the list as well as his inclusion in the register of wanted persons.
The collaborator of the AL24 News channel denounces an intimidation and claims to undergo repeated checks in the Parisian airports for several months, pointing the finger at the persistence of the methods of the former minister Bruno Retailleau within the institutions.
This resident in France had become known for a virulent outburst that had sealed his media fate in August 2024. RMC had fired him on the spot from the program "Les Grandes Gueules" after his remarks made on an Algerian channel.
There, he described Morocco as a "rogue state", associating the Kingdom with drug trafficking, prostitution and pedophilia, while attacking the royal advisor André Azoulay. These statements, condemned at the time by the French political class, including Eric Ciotti, mark the breaking point of his public career.
