Marrakech Ranks Among Top Summer Destinations for French Travelers, Survey Shows

As the summer vacation season has just begun, the Top 10 of the French’s favorite destinations has just been unveiled. A Moroccan destination is included in this ranking.
According to a survey conducted by Booking.com, New York is at the top of the ranking. For the first time, Marseille also climbs into the top 10, overtaking Nice, which comes in 11th place. The Phocaean city is the second French city to appear in the ranking, behind Paris, which has regained its first place after two years of health crisis.
In Europe, Iberian destinations are making the French dream. Thus, Spain places three cities in the top 10: Salou and Lloret de Mar, popular for their festive atmosphere, as well as Barcelona, known for its architectural and cultural wealth. In addition, Lisbon, Rome and London remain must-see destinations. Marrakech stands out as an exotic getaway despite the lack of proximity to the Atlantic Ocean.
In terms of accommodation, the French prefer to stay in hotels, followed by apartments and vacation homes. Bed and breakfasts and aparthotels complete the picture. In the regions, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Languedoc-Roussillon and Nouvelle-Aquitaine continue to attract.
