Morocco U17 Faces Algeria in Crucial Africa Cup Quarter-Final
The Moroccan U17 team is playing a crucial quarter-final match in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying for the 2023 World Cup. Leading Group B with 6 points, the Lionceaux de l’Atlas will face the Algerian team this Wednesday, May 10 at 8pm in Constantine. The two teams had already faced each other last September in the final of the Arab Cup, which had been marked by a general brawl between the young Moroccan players and the Algerian public.
Despite a defeat (1-2) against Zambia in the last group stage match, the Moroccan team managed to qualify for the quarter-finals as the leader of Group B with six points. The national coach, Saïd Chiba, took advantage of the last group match to give playing time to the substitutes and rest the key players in view of the quarter-final against Algeria.
The objective for the Moroccans is clear: to win this quarter-final to qualify for the semi-finals and thus secure a place for the next U17 World Cup. Aware of the crucial stake of this 100% Maghreb derby, the national coach assured that his team was ready to take up the challenge to reach the semi-finals.
The match will take place in Constantine and will be broadcast live on the Arryadia (TNT) channel and the CAF YouTube channel.
To summarize:
• Algeria - Morocco quarter-final. Winning qualification for the U17 World Cup
• The match is scheduled at 8pm (Moroccan time), so 9pm in Europe
• The match can be watched live on Arryadia TNT in Morocco and on the CAF YouTube channel.
