Major Muslim Organizations Withdraw from French Islamic Council Amid Leadership Dispute

The Great Mosque of Paris and three founding federations of the French Council of the Muslim Faith (CFCM) are definitively withdrawing from the body. They cite the one-way management of the CFCM for some time.
According to the press release, the signatory federations cite several reasons. But the most recent is related to the fact that the president of the CFCM, Mohammed Moussaoui, unilaterally decided to hold a meeting of the CFCM executive office on Wednesday, March 17 to appoint the national prison chaplain. A meeting organized against the will of the main founding federations, which describe it as illegal.
Through this initiative, Mohammed Moussaoui distinguished himself by "an unfortunate and unacceptable coup de force, which jeopardizes the proper functioning of the representative body". While denouncing this totally illegal and irresponsible attitude, the signatory federations announce their definitive withdrawal from the executive office of the French Council of the Muslim Faith.
In addition to the Federation of the Great Mosque of Paris led by Chems-eddine HAFIZ, the withdrawal letter was also signed by the French Federation of Islamic Associations of Africa, the Comoros and the West Indies (FFAIACA) led by Assani Fassassi, Muslims of France (MF) of Amar Lasfar, and the Rally of Muslims of France (RMF) led by Anouar Kbibech.
