Major Drug Bust: 2.5 Tons of Moroccan Cannabis Worth €5M Seized Near Paris

Investigators from the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS) carried out, on Monday, October 14, the seizure of several tons of Moroccan cannabis in Argenteuil, in the Val-d’Oise.
In total, 2.5 tons of cannabis with an estimated market value of more than 5 million euros (M€) were seized. This is the result of collaboration with the Moroccan and Spanish authorities.
To achieve this feat, the investigators of the Central Office for the Repression of Illicit Drug Trafficking (OCRTIS) set up surveillance that lasted several months. Since May, they have been investigating a network for importing cannabis from Morocco.
On the arrival of the convoy in the Paris region, the investigators arrested three men, according to a judicial source. Two of them are 37 years old while the third is 32 years old. These men are now accused of "drug trafficking", "organized importation of narcotics" and "criminal conspiracy".
The mastermind of this traffic is among the people arrested yesterday morning.
