Major Drug Bust: 2 Tons of Moroccan Cannabis Seized Near Lyon, 7 Arrested

Elements of the judicial police of the Lyon branch arrested seven people last Friday. They are accused of trafficking Moroccan cannabis and illegally possessing a large sum of money.
The security operation set up by the judicial police near Lyon in collaboration with the investigators of the Lyon branch of the Anti-Narcotics Office allowed them to surprise the accused, reports Le Parisien. They had been tailing for several months a truck coming from Spain and which was supposed to go to Lyon via the highway, passing through the north of the Isère department.
The defendants were busy unloading the truck filled with Moroccan cannabis when they were caught in the act. Contrary to the information received by the investigators, which mentioned half a ton, they discovered 2 tons in the truck and 300 other kilograms during a search carried out in a hideout, not far from the place of arrest. A large sum of money was found inside the truck.
In addition to the two arrested drivers, who were of Spanish origin, five young French people aged 20 and 30, known to the police services, were also arrested. They were all taken into custody for the needs of the investigation before being handed over to a judge to answer for their actions. According to a source close to the case, this is the biggest net cast by the Lyon PJ.
