Morocco participated in the 3rd edition of "Viva Technology" in France from May 16 to 18. For three days, the young people invited by the Digital Development Agency (ADD) seduced more than one, starting with the first of the French. Emmanuel Macron indeed seized this opportunity to highlight the importance of Moroccan startups in the French ecosystem.
There is no doubt that Moroccan startups embody a digital proposal force with high added value in the fields of GreenTech, HealthTech, EdTech, TransportTech, or in particular in AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology. They proved it at this Digital and Innovation fair, during which Morocco shone through the genius of its young inventors. And on this, Emmanuel Macron did not hide his feelings. Indeed, "Morocco’s participation in Vivatech is a very good thing. There are startups in Morocco that are quite important and have been participating for a long time in the development of the French ecosystem. And this is the whole logic that we want to have at the summit of the two shores," said the French president, to L’Economiste.
Emphasizing that technology holds a prominent place in the development exchanges between the two countries, President Macron cites the example of "millions of Moroccans, French, dual nationals who circulate between our two countries." A relationship that the French leader wishes to see further strengthened.
Morocco, which took an active part, for its second participation in this salon exclusively dedicated to innovation and the latest technological advances, bet on 16 startups that presented Moroccan expertise and competitive innovation. These startups were able to seize the great opportunities to open up to the innovation needs of the European market. A market that according to Macron is estimated at more than 400 million consumers.
For his part, Sidi Mohammed Drissi Melyani, Director General of the ADD, said that "Morocco now presents an undeniable potential and proven expertise in the information and communication technology sector, which we wish to highlight and promote on the occasion of the Paris show".
