Macron: French Summer Travel Limited to Europe, Morocco Off-Limits

The President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, affirmed on Tuesday, May 5, that "we will stay among Europeans" during the summer holidays. Consequently, French tourists will not go to Morocco.
"It’s too early to tell you if we’ll be able to have vacations. What I can tell you is that we’re going to limit major international travel, even during the summer holidays. We’ll stay among Europeans. Maybe, depending on the evolution of the epidemic, we’ll have to reduce a little more; but it’s too early to say. We’ll know in early June," said Emmanuel Macron.
These statements by the French president suggest that the French will not be able to spend their summer holidays in Morocco this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic that is raging in almost all countries of the world. Yet they are numerous to prioritize the kingdom for these holidays. Moreover, they are the first among the tourists who arrive in the kingdom every year. Clearly, the effects of the health crisis on Moroccan tourism will be felt for some time to come. A huge shortfall for the sector!
