Macron and King Mohammed VI Discuss Potential Morocco Visit Amid Diplomatic Tensions

King Mohammed VI is said to have had a telephone conversation with Emmanuel Macron this week. The main topic discussed: the preparation of a possible visit by the French president to the kingdom.
These exchanges between the Moroccan sovereign and the French president took place on Tuesday evening, the French political scientist and president of the Prospective and Security Institute in Europe, Emmanuel Dupuy, told Telquel, specifying that the two personalities tried to smooth out the tensions that have arisen in recent months between their two countries.
According to the official, the occupant of the Élysée Palace should visit Morocco before the end of the year. Even if the information is not yet official, this trip would replace the one aborted in October, he stressed.
This official visit by Emmanuel Macron to Morocco would serve to inaugurate a new chapter in Moroccan-French relations, after a diplomatic tension between Paris and Rabat, the political scientist declared, recalling that the position of ambassador is still vacant in the two countries.
