Luxury Marchica Lagoon Resort Transforms Nador’s Tourism Landscape

One of the infrastructures that enhances the beauty of Nador is the Marchica Lagoon Resort (MLR) built in the Marchica region. A dream destination for domestic and foreign tourists.
The construction of the Marchica Lagoon Resort (MLR) is part of the projects of the first septennat (2012/2019) likely to change, among other things, the appearance of Nador. MLR is the first palace in the region built on a total area of 3.75 hectares. Composed of 93 rooms, two restaurants and two bars, including a lounge bar, the MLR can accommodate seaplanes.
La Mamounia manages the MLR, which is jointly owned by ONCF (50%) and the Marchica Agency (50%), reports L’Économiste. "To decongest the province, which had one of the most archaic urban and peripheral mobility networks, everything had to be completely overhauled," explains Abbas El Kadi, manager of the Marchica site.
In addition to MLR, other 1 to 5 star hotels are to be built in the region to promote ecotourism and support the socio-economic recovery. Various urban mobility works are underway. Intercity routes and entrances and bypass roads are multiplying.
Among the priorities are rebuilding the dual carriageway connecting Nador to Bni Nsar (9 km) and launching the first part of the northern bypass of the city connecting Taouima to the exit of Nador-Nord over 6 kilometers. A fund of more than 250 million DH has been disbursed for the realization of these two bypass axes. The construction of several other infrastructures is also planned.
