Lobbyist Linked to BFMTV Presenter’s Unauthorized Broadcasts on Morocco, Sudan

The lobbyist and media consultant Jean-Pierre Duthion is the man who would have put the Franco-Moroccan journalist, Rachid M’Barki, presenter of BFMTV "relieved of activity", in difficulty for having broadcast information on an economic forum between Morocco and Spain in Dakhla, in the Sahara, without referring to his hierarchy.
Jean-Pierre Duthion "provided at least three subjects to the BFMTV presenter Rachid M’Barki, on behalf of Moroccan, Sudanese and Bahraini clients," reveals Libération in its ’CheckNews’ column. As proof, the one who presents himself as a lobbyist and media consultant on his website has exchanged via WhatsApp with a client, representing a rich Sudanese businessman, to negotiate the broadcast of information on "the role of Sudan in the fight against illegal immigration," claims the French daily.
Since mid-January, Rachid M’Barki has been "relieved of activity" for having broadcast information on an economic forum between Morocco and Spain in Dakhla, in the Sahara, without referring to his hierarchy. Thomas Joubert now presents the "Journal de la nuit" of BFMTV. The Franco-Moroccan journalist is the subject of an internal investigation, the results of which are still awaited.
