Lawyer Sentenced for $72 Million Fraud Against AB InBev Heirs

The lawyer of the heirs of AB InBev was sentenced to 2 years in prison, including 15 months suspended, for money laundering and breach of trust. Farida Chorfi is accused of fraudulently taking 66 million euros from this family.
Alexis and Patrice Bailo de Spoelberch, adopted sons of one of the wealthy heirs of the Belgian brewing giant, AB Inbev, almost lost a good part of their fortune by trusting this family lawyer. According to Sudinfo.be, Farida Chorfi got her hands on the family’s bearer securities.
In the Correctional Court of Geneva, Farida Chorfi, whose fortune is estimated at more than 80 million euros, was sentenced on Monday to two and a half years in prison, including 15 months suspended.
Incarcerated for eight months in the Champ-Dollon prison in Geneva, this Belgian lawyer, born in Morocco, was released with a ban on leaving Swiss territory, it is specified.
