Key Morocco-Spain Ferry Route Suspended, Impacting Summer Travel Plans

For more than five months, the Al Hoceima-Motril maritime line has been suspended without notice. This stoppage affects thousands of Moroccans in Europe who are accustomed to using this sea route to travel to Morocco during the summer vacation as part of the Marhaba Operation.
Why was the maritime line connecting Al Hoceima to Motril abruptly stopped, even though it is heavily used by Moroccans in Europe and the residents of the region? This is the question that Deputy Abdelhak Amghar of the Socialist Group addressed to the Minister of Transport and Logistics.
The suspension of this sea route will affect the travel of Moroccans in Europe to Morocco this summer as part of the Marhaba Operation, the parliamentarian stated, adding that the Moroccans residing abroad who were used to taking this line to reach the kingdom will be forced this year to go through the port of Beni Ensar or the port of Tangier.
The deputy asked what urgent measures the government plans to take to reactivate this maritime line and facilitate the transit of Moroccans residing abroad who wish to spend their summer vacation in Morocco.
