Jean-Luc and Lydia, blocked at the Lidl checkout, saved by the generosity of a Moroccan

It is a beautiful story of solidarity that warms the hearts at the beginning of the year. In Taillecourt (France), a retired couple had their bank card blocked at the supermarket checkout. An anonymous customer, originally from Morocco, spontaneously paid their bill, refusing any reimbursement in the name of his values.

Jean-Luc and Lydia are still in shock, but a positive shock. At the end of December, while they were shopping at the Lidl in Taillecourt, the situation took a turn towards the usual embarrassment: a memory lapse, three incorrect codes, and the sexagenarian’s bank card was blocked.

As the couple were looking for a solution in front of the cashier, the store manager announced a surprising news: a man, who was waiting behind them, had just discreetly paid their bill.

"This will be my Christmas gift"

Jean-Luc rushed to catch up with the benefactor in the parking lot to reimburse him. But the man categorically refused the money. To explain his gesture, he simply said: "In our community, we don’t leave anyone in trouble, this will be my Christmas gift".

According to the testimony of the retirees reported by the local press, this man would be originally from Morocco. Touched by this gesture described as "rare, beautiful and disinterested", Jean-Luc and Lydia are now trying to find this stranger to thank him properly for having illuminated their end of the year with his spontaneous generosity.
